“Carolyn has been invaluable in helping my son reach his goals, and my son has made significant improvements in reading and writing while working with her. Carolyn has a great repertoire with our son, which has helped him build confidence in himself and stay engaged in learning. She is very patient, kind, and understanding of the the struggles children with dyslexia deal with on a daily basis. She is very knowledgeable about the IEP process, the rules that public schools must follow, and the rights parents and students have. As a parent, I found it difficult to navigate the IEP process and know what the school is legally required to do to meet my child’s needs and know what was, and wasn’t working for him. Carolyn very carefully and thoroughly reviewed my son’s test scores, IEP, goals, strengths and weaknesses before making recommendations to both the parents and the school based on our son’s unique, individual needs. This included recommendations that the school, and me as a parent, were not aware were options. She seemed to know exactly what he needed and what the school needed to do so he could get the most out of his education. Importantly, she understands how difficult it is working with educators and schools who are not familiar with dyslexia remediation. When Carolyn attended our son’s IEP meeting, she was very professional, asked many questions, and gave the educators valuable insight into how my son learns and what he needs to be successful. I know both my son, and my son’s educators, greatly benefited from Carolyn’s hard work and dedication to helping him be better understood and obtain a beneficial IEP. As a parent, I cannot express how valuable Carolyn’s work has been for us. She is very dedicated and passionate about helping students reach their goals and be successful, and her work will benefit her students their entire lives.”

“Receiving a diagnosis of dyslexia for my daughter was a very stressful and confusing time. Our public school did not recognize, screen for, or have any help for a dyslexic student two years ago. Carolyn was a big help answering my questions while navigating and researching IEPs and 504 Plans when we were in a hurry to get the right kind of help for our child. Early intervention for a student with dyslexia is vital and without Carolyn’s help I would have wasted a lot of time and asked the wrong questions. I am very thankful for the help Carolyn provided and her calm and professional manner helped put me at ease. Personally, I feel dyslexia is widely misunderstood by both the schools and parents and having an expert like Carolyn to help you find the right interventions for your child will save you a lot of time and money. It has been two years since our daughter was diagnosed with dyslexia and she was lucky to have Carolyn as a tutor and advisor!”
